Particularly for Asian-American parents, a first brush with the primary and secondary schools in US evoke feelings varying from disappointment, dread to depressing thoughts with worries about the future of the child. Especially among Indians temptations are high to go back to India, preferring the secondary schooling system there. In both US and India, there is a definite glaring difference in the quality of secondary education and the graduate schools. For some reason neither country is able to get both right.
