Those who read Japanese literature translated into English will know who Donald Keene is. The Japan Times published an extended interview with him in their Sept 6, 2009 issue. I used to read his weekly column in Daily Yomiuri Online but I can't seem to find the link to it anymore. If anyone can find it I'd love to read them again. But it may be that those columns have been turned into a book. If you haven't read Keene, I recommend starting with Chushingura - a puppet play, and Yoshimasa (you can find the book on Amazon)
