These are the times when during the day we are asleep everywhere except on the islands of our own selves, and during the night we wake up to sights and sounds from another world, afraid like little children.

Thanks for your understanding. Time is the greatest healer, and the wound is not as painful as it was when I wrote the post. Even so, depression covers me like a black blanket everytime I think of them. The friend is ok, and back to routine, hats off to her. My maid returned saying the "bribe" satisfied the in-laws, and I hope that is for good. And phantom363, the daughter dropped out of 10th class to get married to her sweetheart. Another of my complaints against that class of society.. education takes a backseat to emotions. She would, like her mother, and mother before, enter into domestic servitude, a neo version of slavery due to lack of education and any skill, other than domestic.
